Job Description

The Support Representative II, Shop Technician is responsible for preparing new equipment for delivery and rebuilding used equipment. Additional responsibilities include providing technical support, quality assurance, training, and general direction to other technicians. This role involves leading technicians in the absence of management, setting an example for work ethic, interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude. The role also champions continuous quality improvement of shop output.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and prep assigned equipment, performing operational checks and adjustments utilizing the Supply Chain Install/Return Checklist.
  • Perform setups on advanced equipment, such as production gear, and program equipment to match specific customer requirements based on the Customer Configuration Document (CCD).
  • Provide technical support and on-the-job training to other technicians and delivery/install drivers.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot equipment failures, implementing corrective actions and repairs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Complete all required administrative tasks, including closing jobs in WMS and tracking hours to manage productivity.
  • Manage ordering of parts for repairs as assigned by management.
  • Follow all company training programs, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Serve as backup to shop supervisor/manager as required.
  • Adhere to facility security and safety rules.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
  • Demonstrated mastery of all shop technician competencies.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment issues.

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Mechanical/electronics trade school (a plus).

Working Conditions:

  • The position typically involves working in a warehouse environment with adequate lighting, ventilation, and normal temperature and noise levels.
  • Exposure to chemical solvents and cleaners.
  • Physical effort is required to lift tool cases and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds, with the ability to move objects weighing up to 700 pounds on wheels.
  • Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling are required to service equipment at floor level.
  • Overtime or work outside normal working hours may be required when the need arises.
