Job Description


This position is responsible for the overall safety and compliance with state and federal permits for the facility, as well as operational and financial results.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assign work to the production crew and supervise their activities throughout the shift.
  • Audit crew performance for quality, quantity, safety conformance, and resource utilization.
  • Manage staff, including hiring, firing, and development in accordance with HR policies.
  • Monitor production schedules and ensure adequate personnel and resources.
  • Review schedule boards and shift reports for compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct activities to protect employee and environmental wellbeing.
  • Enforce safety rules and practices to ensure a healthy work environment.
  • Oversee the plant safety committee and conduct safety meetings.
  • Assist in personnel training programs and report plant emergencies.
  • Develop waste profile sheets and coordinate outgoing loads.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Location of this position: 500 Medco Rd, Birmingham, AL 35217, USA

Required Experience:

  • Five or more years in the hazardous waste industry or related field.
  • Three or more years managing an operations team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of RCRA and DOT regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Advanced knowledge of math and science with an emphasis on Chemistry.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or biosciences (Chemistry/Environmental Science) or equivalent experience.
