Job Description

The Delivery & Install Driver is responsible for the efficient and safe pick-up, relocation, and delivery of office equipment, ensuring high-quality service that may influence future customer purchasing decisions. In addition to delivery, the driver will be involved in basic installations and networking of devices. Federal DOT regulations and safety standards must be adhered to. This role may also include basic customer training on the equipment and require overnight stays on occasion.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Safely deliver equipment to the correct location.
  • Maintain logbooks in accordance with DOT regulations (electronic or manual).
  • Ensure vehicle (van/truck) is safe, clean, and compliant with DOT and state laws before and after each trip.
  • Perform equipment pick-up during deliveries to minimize costs.
  • Conduct basic installations, including setting up IP addresses, downloading print drivers, and backing up/uploading customer data.
  • Provide basic customer training on standalone and network printing devices.
  • Participate in safety programs and follow accident/incident reporting procedures.
  • Pre-call customers when applicable and maintain expected productivity levels.
  • Offer feedback to service teams about installation and networking issues.
  • Maintain professional appearance in driver uniform.
  • Load/unload trucks and assist with inventory reconciliation and cycle counts.
  • Assist in training new delivery drivers on products and procedures.
  • Operate warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks when needed.
  • Comply with productivity and quality standards.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum two years of medium-duty truck driving experience.
  • On-the-job training with field technicians or at a transfer center.
  • Experience with basic technical skills related to networking and equipment installation.
  • Safe driving record with a history of following DOT regulations.
  •  Be at least 20 years of age, properly licensed in his or her current state of residence

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Valid driver’s license and medical card as per DOT regulations.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent physical activity including lifting equipment up to 100 lbs and moving equipment that may weigh up to 1,000 lbs.
  • Conditions may include office, warehouse, and vehicle environments with varying lighting, temperature, and noise levels.
  • Occasional exposure to chemical solvents and cleaners.
  • Ability to work independently, often handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling required to service equipment at floor level.
