Job Description

The Delivery & Install Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient delivery and relocation of office equipment, while ensuring compliance with federal DOT requirements. This position also involves the installation and networking of equipment, as well as basic customer training. The driver's professionalism and quality of work have a direct impact on customer satisfaction and future sales opportunities. This role includes an emphasis on safety and customer relations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Safely deliver equipment to the correct location and ensure all equipment is properly loaded and secured in the vehicle.
  • Maintain log books in accordance with DOT regulations, both electronic and manual.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is safe, clean, and compliant with DOT and state laws.
  • Conduct basic connected installations, such as setting up IP addresses, downloading print drivers, and training customers on standalone and network devices.
  • Participate in safety programs and pre-call customers when applicable.
  • Achieve productivity targets based on assigned workload and experience level.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and technical skills.
  • Provide constructive feedback regarding installations and network setups.
  • Ensure all paperwork is signed and processed appropriately.
  • Perform inventory reconciliation and cycle counts as needed.
  • Train new Delivery Drivers on products and proper loading procedures.
  • Follow accident and incident reporting guidelines.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks as needed.
  • Be available for overnight stays based on DOT regulations or peak periods.

Required Experience

  • Minimum two years of medium-duty truck driving experience.
  • Experience with basic equipment installations, including networking and printing devices.
  • Valid and current medical card required.
  • Eligibility to drive a commercial vehicle according to FMCSR regulations.
  • Experience working with warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, is required.
  • Safe driving record and History
  • Ability to read maps and electronic GPS
  •  Be at least 20 years of age, properly licensed in his or her current state of residence
  • Must maintain valid driver's license in accordance with company policy

Required Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  •  On line technical training focused on networking and installation

Working Conditions

  • Frequent physical activity including bending, squatting, and lifting up to 100 pounds, with occasional moving of equipment up to 1,000 pounds.
  • Exposure to chemical solvents and cleaners.
  • Work environment includes office, warehouse, and vehicle settings with varying conditions such as temperature and noise levels.
  • Frequent travel may require overnight stays based on DOT regulations or peak periods.
