Job Description

Responsible for the scheduling and delivery of equipment to customers in a timely manner. Supervises 10 or more delivery personnel and/or multiple delivery locations. Ensures DOT and state law compliance. Manages the processes, people, and assets utilized in fulfilling customer orders for equipment including warehousing, delivery, and reverse logistics.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Train delivery personnel in loading, unloading, and installation of equipment.
  • Schedule and route delivery trucks daily according to customer requests.
  • Communicate special needs and requests to delivery drivers.
  • Ensure equipment is configured according to the pick ticket/sales order.
  • Process all paperwork accurately and completely.
  • Communicate issues to configuration center manager/transportation manager.
  • Ensure delivery fleet is safe and compliant with all DOT and state laws.
  • Maintain delivery vehicles and develop a preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Schedule and communicate with third-party delivery companies.
  • Ensure delivery times are met and correct equipment is shipped out.
  • Oversee safe and proper loading/receipt of equipment being shipped to remote locations.
  • Assist with process and procedure development for operational success.
  • Collaborate with inventory control manager to monitor inventory quality and maintain appropriate levels.
  • Perform and ensure timely employee performance evaluations.
  • Work closely with other functional areas to meet external and internal customer needs.
  • Manage transfer center expenses and meet budget guidelines.
  • Establish and track performance measurements within the transfer center.
  • Responsible for the on-time delivery of equipment to customers.
  • Identify customer needs and determine appropriate action; refer calls when needed.
  • Support various multiple communication channels.
  • May require certification in warehouse equipment operation (forklift, stair climber, etc.).
  • Recruit, interview, and select staff. Coach, mentor, and guide staff on performance and development matters.
  • Ensure compliance with equipment inventory policies and procedures.
  • Foster a helpful and positive work culture.
  • Build positive relationships and communicate effectively with coworkers and outside vendors.
  • Conduct all activities in accordance with Ricoh’s code of ethics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Operate within a limited scope of authority under established policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Required Experience

  • Three to five years of supervisory and management experience in the transportation/delivery industry.
  • General knowledge of computerized routing systems and handling hazardous materials.
  • Good systems knowledge and computer skills.
  • Familiarity with local carrier routes and standard trucking industry practices and procedures preferred.
  • Eligibility to drive a commercial vehicle according to FMCSR regulations is a plus.

Required Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.

Work Environment

  • Typically an office environment with adequate lighting, ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise levels.
  • Work assignments are diversified, requiring the interpretation, comprehension, and application of complex material, data, and instruction.
  • Minimal physical effort required — mostly sedentary, but occasional walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting or carrying objects typically under 10 lbs.
  • Moderate dexterity required, including regular use of basic skills such as a calculator, keyboard, hand tools, and eye/hand coordination.
