The Mechanic Heavy Equipment (Traveling) position at BNSF Railway is responsible for maintaining and repairing critical machinery across various locations, ensuring operational efficiency and safety. The role offers a monthly pay rate of $8,726.19, with an anticipated annual salary ranging from $104,714 to $136,000, depending on hours worked and other factors. The position requires extensive travel to job sites, along with on-the-job and classroom training provided by the company.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair BNSF's fleet of equipment.
• Disassemble, repair, modify, overhaul, and troubleshoot machinery, including hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel systems, driveline, and planetary drive systems.
• Operate equipment and use various tools, including manual, electric, pneumatic, hydraulic tools, welders, and cutting torches to perform necessary maintenance and repairs.
• Perform work in safety-sensitive environments and diverse weather conditions, including hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet.
• Ensure safety by adhering to regulations, wearing safety equipment, and responding to emergencies.

Required Experience:

• Two years minimum of verifiable mechanical work experience or training.
• One year minimum of verifiable experience with gasoline and diesel engines on large industrial equipment.
• At least three months of verifiable training or experience with electrical and/or gas welding.
• One year of experience with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic diagrams and schematics.
• Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with air brake endorsements, or be able to obtain one within the first 60 days of employment.
• 21 years of age or older  
• Able to work in the US without company sponsorship now AND in the future. 

Working Environment:

• Work is performed in diverse and extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, sleet).
• Working on uneven surfaces and around loud noises, fumes, and heavy/moving machinery.
• Ability to work in safety-sensitive conditions, adhering to safety regulations and using required safety equipment.
