Job Description
We are seeking an Industrial Millwright Maintenance Technician to work in our Cudahy facility. This role is integral to supporting production and ensuring equipment is operational to meet production goals. Millwrights will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all mechanical equipment in the plant. This position requires an understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, power transmission, and steam systems. This is a 2nd shift (3 PM - 11 PM) or 3rd shift (11 PM - 7 AM) position, with initial training on 1st shift for 6 months.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Inspect mill equipment, chains, belt conveyors, gearboxes, drive chains, and cranes for maintenance or repair.
- Use tools such as forklifts, aerial lifts, drill presses, welding and cutting equipment, and various hand tools.
- Maintain accurate records of labor hours and preventative maintenance findings on work orders.
- Work in high places and confined spaces as necessary.
- Adhere to and promote all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform tasks such as removal, installation, alignment, leveling, and coupling of rotating equipment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Assist Engineering and contractors with capital project work.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Required Experience:
- 8 years of machine repair, hydraulic repair, ironworking, and/or industrial maintenance/millwright experience, OR a licensed Journeyman Millwright through a state indentured apprenticeship.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or GED.
Skills:
- Solid mechanical aptitude for complex mechanical assemblies, including precision measurements.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Knowledge of conventional welding and industrial equipment operations.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- An analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Work Environment:
This role involves working in an industrial environment, including high places and confined spaces. Safety policies and procedures must be strictly followed.
