Opportunity for a Controls Engineer to join our automotive seating plant in Eastaboga, AL. This is a second shift position (5:00 PM - 2:30 AM). Relocation assistance is available.
Primary Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot production issues using existing PLC programs.
Communicate and interact with production associates and maintenance team members across the campus.
Modify existing PLC programs to address production and customer concerns.
Develop new PLC programs and routines for production issues, customer concerns, and continuous improvements.
Install and maintain traceability barcode scanners and printers.
Provide support for two manufacturing plants across various shifts via occasional phone or remote access.
Support overtime as necessary to protect customer needs.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
Study, institute, and maintain efficient and safe work practices, coordinating with HR and Manufacturing Engineering to maintain a safe, accident-free operation.
PLC Programming:
Proficient in Allen Bradley ladder logic programming.
Experienced with Rockwell Logix 5000, Studio 5000, and Logix 500 programming software.
Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Function Block Diagram, Sequential Function Chart, and Structured Text is a plus.
HMI Programming and Development:
Proficient in Factory Talk View Studio software.
Modify existing HMI programs and build new screens or visual elements.
Additional Skills:
Familiar with troubleshooting, commissioning, and using field bus technologies such as IO-Link.
Ability to develop, integrate, and maintain vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, or IFM).
Experience with fastening/torque applications like Atlas Copco.
Knowledge of data collection using OPC and SCADA systems (Inductive Automation Ignition).
Ability to configure and troubleshoot IP addresses for controllers, computers, printers, and TCP/IP devices.
Experience with robotic systems (FANUC, Yaskawa, Universal Robotics, or similar).
Familiarity with databases like Microsoft SQL Server is a plus.
