Job Description
We are seeking a Wind Turbine Technician III to join our team at Vestas. This full-time position is based in Eden, TX (Cactus Flats site). The role offers a $2,500 sign-on bonus as a token of appreciation for the expertise you bring. If you have the necessary certifications, including Basic Safety Training (BST), Basic Technical Training (BTT), and Advanced Rescue Training (ART) from the Global Wind Organization (GWO), you are already one step ahead!
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform work on assigned wind turbines with minimal to no supervision.
- Modify procedures and plans, take appropriate action from general direction, and develop/implement action plans.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to lower-level technicians.
- Work at heights (up to 250 feet) and in small spaces to perform maintenance and repairs.
- Carry tools, equipment, and parts to complete tasks, often in challenging weather conditions.
- Collaborate with the team to maintain a professional, safe, and high-quality work environment.
- Recommend improvements for safety and quality of work.
Required Experience:
- At least 1 year of technical wind experience.
- Experience utilizing complex power tools (hydraulic rams, inductive heaters, diagnostic tools such as advanced fluke meters).
- Advanced working knowledge of industrial safety practices, including energy isolation and risk mitigation.
- Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with internet-based programs and data interpretation.
- Driver’s License and ability to obtain a passport
Required Education:
- A three-year technical associate degree or equivalent.

Work Environment:
This position involves working outdoors, often in challenging weather conditions, at heights up to 250 feet, and in confined spaces. Technicians may be required to climb ladders and carry up to 50 lbs.
