Position Description

An Assembler (Brazer) Technician is responsible for utilizing prints, work instructions and wiring diagrams in order to assemble product on the production line. The position is also responsible for assembling and joining copper and other metal components using brazing techniques to ensure the integrity and efficiency of our cooling systems.  Assembler (Brazer) Technicians are responsible for adhering to all safety and quality requirements while meeting production schedule demands. 

 

Hours: 2nd Shift 3:00PM-11:30PM or 3rd Shift 11:00PM-7:30AM  

Pay: Starting Rate is $24.23/hour after 9 months the pay rate will increase to $26.23

Shift differential: 2nd shift $1.00/hr & 3rd shift is $1.50/hr 

Location: 360 Collierstown Rd, Lexington, VA 24450 

Key Responsibilities

  • Using various manual and powered hand tools to assemble units according to customer specifications.  
  • Perform brazing and soldering of copper, brass, and other metal components in the fabrication of chiller assemblies.
  • Perform brazing for refrigeration and water circuit per print requirements.  
  • Perform high voltage, 3-phase wiring of electrical system.  
  • Ability to measure, cut, fit, and insulate water piping assembly.  
  • Reads blueprints work instructions, and wiring diagrams to build or modify units.  
  • Ensure completion of Quality and Production checklists/processes.  
  • Use computer to access and enter information including Windows based and CAD platforms. Keeps work area neat, clean and orderly. 
  • Operate overhead hoists, manual hand trucks, and powered industrial trucks when required. 

Required Education & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required 
  • Production experience in a make-to-order assembly role is preferred.  
  • Ability to read and interpret prints, wiring diagrams, assembly checks and CAD models in order to meet production specifications preferred.
