We are looking for dedicated technicians who are enthusiastic about preserving our planet through clean, renewable wind energy. As a Vestas technician, you’ll put your electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical experience to work, ensuring your safety, and the safety of your team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and/or installation work on assigned wind turbines with minimal supervision.
- Follow defined schedules, safety protocols, verbal/written instructions, and procedures.
- Provide mentorship to entry-level technicians as needed.
- Work at heights of up to 250 feet and in confined spaces.
- Carry tools and equipment, moving parts, and climbing stairs/ladders while carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Operate intermediate-level power tools such as hydraulic, power torque, and diagnostic tools.
- Collaborate with the team to maintain professionalism, safety, and attention to detail.
- Offer recommendations to improve safety and quality of work.
Required Experience
- At least 1 year of technical wind industry experience, OR
- Six (6) months of technical wind industry experience and a certificate of completion from a wind technician program, OR
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, composite skills, or heavy machinery.
- Experience using intermediate-level power tools such as hydraulic, power torque, and diagnostic tools (e.g., Flukemeter functions and hydraulic pressure gauge).
- Basic computer operation skills, including internet-based program navigation and data interpretation.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and understanding drawings and schematics.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and collaborate with co-workers.
Required Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Work Environment
- Work performed at heights up to 250 feet and in confined spaces.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including adverse weather.
- Physical demands include climbing stairs and ladders while carrying up to 50 lbs.
