Job Description
The Central Control Operator (CCO) Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently managing train operations through Automatic Train Control (ATC), power distribution, and communication systems. This role supports daily customer service by ensuring proper train assembly, managing revenue service, and addressing power configurations during both normal and emergency situations. The position is also responsible for adhering to safety rules, operating procedures, and providing support for maintenance activities. This position offers a pay rate of $24.77/hour.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage the assembly of rail vehicles and ensure scheduled trains are correctly configured for movement into revenue service.
- Support revenue activities by adhering to service plans, monitoring radio communications, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems, and spare train utilization.
- Troubleshoot issues and take necessary actions to ensure the delivery of revenue service.
- Oversee power configurations using the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for normal, maintenance, and emergency activities.
- Implement and coordinate the safe execution of power distribution using work and occupancy permits.
- Use electronic devices, computers, and office equipment to perform tasks, collaborating with employees, contractors, and other personnel involved in operations and maintenance.
Required Experience:
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Applications and Windows Operating Systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stress while adhering to safety rules and procedures in both normal and emergency operations.
Required Education:
- Associate degree in a technical field from an accredited institution.
Working Conditions:
- This is a safety-sensitive position supporting a 24/7 operation.
- Subject to random alcohol and drug testing.
- Must meet physical requirements of the position, complete an entry examination, and pass a 10-year background check.
- Must be able to distinguish colors.
