Job Description

Ferguson Industrial is seeking a Pump Repair Technician to join the team in Norfolk, VA. This is an onsite position with a Monday–Friday schedule (7:30AM – 4:30PM). Pay starts between $22–30 per hour, with potential increases depending on experience. This role is eligible for bonus or incentive plans.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Tear down equipment and prepare disassembly reports with detailed measurement checks.
  • Perform skilled measurements using micrometers and gauges, reporting to the thousandth of an inch.
  • Follow established standard operating procedures for repairs, maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
  • Set up, use, and maintain tools and equipment in the repair center.
  • Interact courteously with sales teams, management, warehouse personnel, and customers.
  • Troubleshoot pump performance issues and perform necessary repairs.

Required Experience

  • Prior experience working on centrifugal pumps, specifically vertical turbine.
  • Ability to accurately use and read micrometers, gauges, and indicators.
  • Basic knowledge of manual machining.
  • Ability to read and understand installation and operations manuals and schematics.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive, self-motivated attitude.
