Job Description
The Field Representative I, Onsite Technician position is an entry-level role designed to service and repair a variety of company products, including small printers, low-end segment devices, and facsimile equipment. The position involves managing a territory, handling customer relationships, and performing routine service, installation, and preventive maintenance. Extensive travel is required to customer locations. A valid driver’s license and auto insurance are necessary due to the travel requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Achieves expected productivity levels based on workload and experience.
- Manages territory, inventory, and customer relationships.
- Drives revenue-generating opportunities through supply leads, contract sales, and equipment assessments.
- Performs diagnostics, installations, and repairs on assigned equipment.
- Conducts troubleshooting and repairs, replacing parts as needed.
- Sets up connected devices, including IP addresses and printer drivers, and provides customer training.
- Maintains an accurate inventory of parts and performs all administrative tasks timely and accurately.
- Adheres to company policies and provides high-quality customer service.
- Interacts with customers to determine service needs and ensure satisfaction.
- Maintains a "car stock" inventory and ensures its accuracy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
- Some working knowledge of electro-mechanical devices, electrical circuitry, and electronics.
- Previous experience or coursework in computers, electronics, mechanics, or a related field is desired.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to follow up with customers and ensure issue resolution.
- Requires a valid state driver's license and minimum level of auto insurance coverage per company policy for position entails extensive use of personal car while on company business.
Required Education
- High school diploma required.
- Additional classes or experience in relevant technical fields (computers, electronics, mechanics) preferred.
Working Conditions
- Office environment with adequate lighting, ventilation, and normal temperature ranges.
- Extensive travel between customer locations is required, and the assignment may include a "walking territory."
- Exposure to minor cuts, burns, and chemical solvents.
- Shift work, overtime, stand-by, and on-call may be required.
- Regular contact with customers, internal teams, and parts department.
- Physical demands include moving heavy equipment, bending, stooping, and carrying tools weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Requires fine-motor skills for handling small mechanical and electronic components.
