Job Description

The Production Operator position at Alstom offers an opportunity to join a global leader in sustainable mobility solutions. This role is based in Plattsburgh, NY, and offers a starting pay rate of $21.50/hour with overtime opportunities available. The position involves performing production tasks on dedicated workstations, maintaining assembly and test robots, and ensuring high-quality standards are met in the manufacturing process.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform production tasks in the factory on dedicated workstations.
  • Pilot, clean, and maintain assembly and test robots.
  • Assemble and inspect finished products to ensure defined quality levels and timely completion.
  • Handle, store goods, and raw materials in the factory or warehouse.
  • Set up production equipment, including robots, machines, workstations, test benches, inspection tools, and warehouse equipment.
  • Clean and maintain working areas and production equipment.
  • Execute manufacturing, production, and test tasks as planned by the MRP (Material Requirements Planning).
  • Follow operating instructions and methods to meet task times and quality standards.
  • Identify parts as required by operating instructions.
  • Monitor the production process and conduct basic testing and quality checks.
  • Report process drifts or quality issues to the Team Leader.
  • Complete tally sheets in the MRP tool as requested by the Team Leader.
  • Pack goods for shipment in crates or other containers.
  • Comply with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) rules for electronics devices production.
  • Adhere to EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) rules and regulations.

Required Experience:

  • More than 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, particularly with electronics, electrical, or mechanical devices.
