Job Description
The Field Representative II is responsible for servicing and repairing a variety of company products and systems at customer locations within a specific geographic area. This position requires the ability to handle a full workload in both standalone and networked environments. Afterhours service may be required, including working early (6:00 AM) and late (7:00 PM), with on-call duties compensated per company policy.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Achieves expected productivity levels associated with assigned workload and experience.
- Manages territory, inventory, and customer relationships.
- Demonstrates excellent technical and customer relation skills.
- Actively drives revenue-generating opportunities, including supply leads, contract sales, network support contract leads, and equipment/print assessment leads.
- Performs a full range of service and repair procedures, including diagnostics, installations, removals, and retrofits on assigned equipment.
- Installs Basic Connected devices, sets up IP addresses, installs printer drivers, and provides customer training on printing functions.
- Troubleshoots and repairs or replaces equipment components for B&W, color, and multifunction devices.
- Completes technical training on new equipment as assigned.
- Executes required territory management and call handling procedures.
- Works closely with sales partners to maximize equipment leads and upgrade opportunities.
- Maintains a high degree of accuracy in managing parts inventory.
- Completes all required administrative tasks accurately and on time.
- Provides technical assistance to less experienced technicians and maintains productive relationships with all company personnel.
- Maintains a "car stock" inventory.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
- Typically requires journeyman-level technical knowledge gained through completion of technical school and 2+ years of related experience.
- Requires a valid state driver's license and minimum auto insurance coverage per company policy, as extensive travel using a personal car is required.
Required Education:
- Completion of technical school or equivalent technical training, with a focus on electro-mechanical devices, electrical circuitry, and electronics.
Working Conditions:
- Works in an office environment with adequate lighting, ventilation, and normal temperature and noise levels.
- Extensive daily travel between customer locations, potentially on foot for walking territories.
- Frequent exposure to weather conditions, chemical solvents, and cleaners, as well as occasional minor cuts and burns.
- Requires physical effort, including moving equipment that may weigh up to 400 pounds and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling while servicing equipment at floor level.
- Requires dexterity in using hand tools for small electronic and mechanical components.
- Shift work, overtime, and on-call duty may be required.
- Regular contact with customers, service call centers, parts departments, and field service managers.
