Job Description

The Delivery & Set Up Driver is responsible for the efficient and safe pick-up, relocation, and delivery of office equipment, including the installation and networking of devices. This role requires meeting all federal DOT requirements and delivery safety standards. The driver’s professionalism and quality impact future customer decisions. Basic training on delivered devices is provided.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Safely deliver equipment to the correct location.
  • Maintain log books per DOT regulations (electronic or manual).
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip reviews ensuring vehicle safety and cleanliness.
  • Perform pick-ups during deliveries to minimize costs.
  • Conduct basic installations: setting up IP addresses, downloading print drivers, removing hard drives, backing up/uploading customer's address book, and providing basic customer training.
  • Participate in safety programs and pre-call customers when applicable.
  • Achieve expected productivity levels.
  • Exhibit strong technical and customer relation skills.
  • Identify customer needs and refer calls to appropriate parties.
  • Provide feedback to service teams on networking and installation.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in driver uniform.
  • Contact dispatch/service department if technician assistance is needed.
  • Ensure equipment configuration matches documentation.
  • Secure equipment in the van/truck.
  • Capture electronic customer signatures upon transaction completion.
  • Ensure all paperwork is signed and processed.
  • Load/off-load trucks as needed.
  • Train new drivers on products and proper loading techniques.
  • Follow accident/incident reporting guidelines.
  • Conduct cycle counts and inventory reconciliation when required.
  • Reconcile inventory at the end of the day and report discrepancies.
  • Handle inventory valued up to $1,000,000.
  • Overnight stays may be required.
  • Operate warehouse equipment (forklift, stair climber, pallet jack).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

  • Safe driving record and history.
  • Minimum of two years of medium-duty truck driving experience.
  • Online technical training focused on networking and installation.
  • On-the-job training with field technicians.
  • Ability to read maps and electronic GPS.
  • Pass a road test.
  • Valid commercial driver's license if applicable per state.
  • Experience with inventory reconciliation and cycle counts.
  • Be at least 20 years old and properly licensed in the current state of residence.
  • Eligibility to drive a commercial vehicle per FMCSR regulations.

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Valid driver's license in accordance with company policy.
  • Valid and current medical card.

Working Conditions:

  • Follow appropriate lifting/moving procedures to avoid injuries.
  • Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling.
  • Lift equipment weighing up to 100 pounds; move equipment up to 1000 pounds.
  • Work assignments include office, warehouse, and van/truck environments.
  • Exposure to chemical solvents and cleaners.
  • Ability to work independently.
