Join Alstom as a Composite Mechanic in Ventura, CA, with a competitive pay rate of $28.68/hour. This position is unionized, requiring membership in the Union organization.

Primary Responsibilities

• Review project requests, safety instructions, blueprints, and schematics to determine specifications and procedures.
• Dismantle, assemble, and replace mechanical components for equipment such as HVAC, brake, and propulsion systems to ensure compliance with inspections.
• Analyze subsystems to meet design specifications, making necessary modifications in a timely manner.
• Record activities performed and relevant information on report cards or data sheets.
• Conduct quality tests and verifications to ensure safe performance of components.
• May require training and qualification as a class four train operator to move rail equipment.
• Additional tasks as assigned.

Required Experience

• Manual and/or Schematic knowledge
• Mechanical and Electrical aptitudes
• Preferred: 1 year of experience in rail maintenance of equipment.
• Previous experience in construction, maintenance, or warehouse work is a plus but not required.
• Diesel/Mechanical Vocational Certificate required if no relevant experience.

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Work Environment

• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, sometimes up to 50 pounds.
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling.
