Job Description

We are currently looking for a Machinist for our manufacturing facility in Washington, Pennsylvania. Our Machinists are part of a highly skilled team that is critical to ensuring large industrial equipment and systems are fully operational for continuous production and to consistently meet production goals. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output. 
  • Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping. 
  • Plan the sequence of necessary actions for job completion. 
  • Select appropriate machines to complete jobs. 
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages. 
  • Maintain accurate records of projects, including machine assembly, startup, and installation. 
  • Participate in daily meetings, prioritizing and reviewing the daily schedule of work. 
  • Operate fork trucks, man lifts, cranes, etc. 
  • Provide assistance in operating functions/areas. 
  • Follow all safety practices and rules to ensure equipment operates safely. 

 

Required Experience: 

  • At least two years of machinist experience in a manufacturing, military, or other industrial environment, OR a certificate/associate's degree in machining. 

 

Required Education: 

  • High School Diploma or GED. 

 

Skills: 

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities. 
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams. 
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Proficient in using precision tools (e.g., calipers) for accurate measurements. 
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals. 
  • Knowledge of metal properties and other materials. 
  • Outstanding mathematical skills and analytical abilities. 
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items. 

 

Work Environment: 

This role is Monday-Friday. As part of our Union Maintenance Team, you must be willing to work all shifts in our 24/7 operation. Based on the need, overtime may be available, including other shifts and weekends.
