Job Description

Supervisor, Operations

 

General Purpose:

To manage Vestas owned inventory at central warehouse. Provide oversight and training (as needed) for all staff, streamline daily activities, maintain high state of safety and drive efficiencies within the team

 

Responsibilities:

·        Manage inventory and warehousing at central warehouse to support business and operational requirements

·        Update Standard Operating Process (SOP) for central warehouse operation

·        Work with corporate to maintain/update TSL database and other order handling systems (SAP, etc.) as necessary to keep inventories accurate

·        Oversee daily operations to ensure:

o   timely posting of all inventory transactions such as receiving, shipping, and stock transfers

o   maintenance of all locations such as empty stock locations, INBND, In-transit and defective locations

o   utilization of warehouse to achieve most efficient use of floor space

o   completion of monthly cycle counts, and bi-annual physical inventories

o   monthly audit of shelf-life items to ensure expired materials are removed from stock

·        Accurate inventory accounting

·        Supervise staff ensuring all aspects of warehouse management are satisfied and meet established guidelines

·        Ensure all tools are kept in compliance with safety and ISO standards for use

·        Collaborate with site/project staff on support requests

·        Maintain and support staff on all aspects of safety and awareness

·        Create, with PgM, tool utilization forecasts and budgets

·        Assist with management of budget

·        Oversee onsite inventory storage, organization and functions of warehouse

 

Essential Functions:

·        Use of Microsoft Office Suite computer program (e.g.Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), and internet research

·        Ability to communicate effectively in English

·        Ability to implement processes to efficiently conduct required administrative duties

·        Ability to manage database systems

·        Ability to travel as business demands

·        Ability to complete weekly reports

·        Regular and reliable attendance

·        Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, use hand tools and various tools weighing up to 15 pounds; push/pull of up to 25 pounds (force)

·        Climb on/off ladders, stairs, and equipment; kneeling, bending and reaching

·        Driver’s license & ability to operate of vehicles and plant equipment

 

Education, Training, and Skills Required:

·        Associates degree required, BS preferred; applicable field knowledge may be seen in lieu of degree

·        OSHA 10 – OSHA 40 preferred

·        5 or more years of inventory or warehouse experience

·        5 or more years’ experience in customer service

·        3 – 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

·        Familiarity with field level operations

·        Safety protocols

·        Forklift with telehandler 

·        Strong computer software, communication and organizational skills

·        Working knowledge of MS Office applications required

·        Driver’s license is required

While performing duties of the job there may be exposure to toxic or corrosive chemicals and noise levels that would require specific PPE in an OSHA controlled environment. Exposure to weather, work tasks both indoors and outdoors.

 

Shift: M- F 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Salary Range: $ 75 K to 80 K
