Job Description & Requirements
Services and repairs a variety of office equipment at customer locations, typically within a designated geographic area. May act as a product specialist or team lead/coordinator. This position requires at least one industry certification.
Primary Responsibilities
-
Specialize in servicing and repairing complex office equipment
-
Manage territory operations, parts inventory, and customer relationships
-
Provide second-level technical support to technicians
-
Perform diagnostics, installations, removals, and retrofits
-
Troubleshoot and replace components on multifunctional B&W and color devices
-
Complete technical training on new equipment as assigned
-
Conduct on-the-job training (OJT) and technical seminars for peers
-
Serve as a role model for professional behavior and leadership
-
Execute territory and call handling procedures effectively
-
Collaborate with sales to identify equipment and contract leads
-
Maintain accurate records, car stock inventory, and administrative reporting
-
Address and resolve customer service escalations

Support field management and contribute to process improvements

Comply with company policies and territory backup plans

Perform additional duties as required
Required Experience
-
3+ years of related technical experience
-
Minimum of 2 years as a Technology Service Consultant I
-
Sustained performance at a “meets or exceeds” level for at least 2 years
-
Valid state driver’s license and minimum required auto insurance coverage
Required Education
-
High school diploma or GED required
-
Technical school completion strongly preferred
Work Environment
-
Office and customer site environments with standard lighting, temperature, and noise
-
Extensive daily travel by car or foot, depending on territory
-
Exposure to solvents, cleaners, and minor injuries (e.g., cuts, burns)
-
May require shift work, overtime, and on-call availability
-
Physical demands: lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing equipment up to 400 lbs., frequent standing, bending, and tool use
-
Requires strong hand dexterity for precision repairs on small components
-
Frequent internal contact with dispatch and supervisors; external contact with customers for troubleshooting
