Job Description & Requirements

 The Field Specialist I, Advanced serves as a key technical resource, responsible for the configuration, deployment, and ongoing support of IT systems—including laptops, desktops, peripherals, and networking hardware. This role acts as a trusted liaison between users, technical teams, and vendors to ensure high-quality IT service delivery, system upgrades, and innovation support.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Configure, install, and maintain workstations, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.

  • Create and manage computer imaging processes, operating systems, and application deployment.

  • Provide remote access support for home-based users, including VPNs and connectivity tools.

  • Offer desk-side and remote troubleshooting for Windows OS, servers, virtualization (VMware/Microsoft), and network hardware.

  • Interface with vendors to resolve hardware/software issues and coordinate timely resolutions.

  • Administer virus protection systems and conduct routine patching and updates.

  • Lead or support IT projects and software/hardware rollouts; ensure tasks meet project deadlines.

  • Collaborate with IT teams to deploy new technologies, share knowledge, and maintain documentation.

  • Monitor Help Desk tickets, deliver excellent customer service, and escalate complex cases when necessary.

  • Maintain certifications and engage in ongoing technical training relevant to field services.

Required Experience

  • 2–4 years of field service experience strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency in Windows OS, Windows Server, Active Directory, and group policy.

  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V).

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Office 365, Hosted VoIP/Desktop, SaaS tools).

  • Exposure to networking (switches, routers, firewalls, VoIP systems).

  • ITIL knowledge or certification is a plus.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Certifications: A+, Network+, Security+ (Microsoft and VMware certifications preferred).
