Job Description & Requirements

The Field Representative I, Services Onsite Technician is responsible for the daily support, service, repair, and availability of Ricoh-managed devices within a specified geographic area. The technician responds to service requests, resolves device alerts, and provides technical support and training with a strong emphasis on customer service. This role includes installation, preventative maintenance, and routine service of printers, multifunction devices, and other technologies under Ricoh’s Service Advantage program.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Respond to service alerts and customer requests, ensuring timely resolution and SLA adherence.

  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, installation, and component replacement on Ricoh and third-party equipment.

  • Use remote support tools to resolve issues and minimize the need for dispatch.

  • Set up IP addresses, download printer drivers, and provide customer training.

  • Document all service activities using Ricoh OFSC and client systems as required.

  • Maintain and manage inventory of parts, supplies, and consumables.

  • Support device moves, adds, changes, and disposals.

  • Ensure technical expertise and positive customer interactions.

  • Provide updates to the fleet manager regarding device performance and fleet status.

  • Complete all required administrative tasks and technical training.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • IT Help Desk support experience (applications and hardware) preferred.

  • Experience with computers, electronics, or mechanical devices preferred.


Required Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Valid driver’s license and minimum auto insurance coverage per company policy.

Work Environment

  • Office and customer environments with regular travel between locations.

  • Work may involve walking large distances or traveling on foot within urban areas.

  • Regular exposure to chemical solvents, minor cuts/burns, and various weather conditions.

  • Requires lifting objects up to 400 lbs. with assistance and handling tool cases up to 50 lbs.

  • Involves frequent kneeling, bending, and fine-motor tool work on small components.

  • High level of customer interaction and stress during peak service periods may occur.
