Reports to: East Region Punch

Resides within: Ohio Valley, Northeast, Southeast

Travel Requirement: 90%-100%

Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday

What You’ll Be Doing 

As a Field Service Technician, you’ll travel across the U.S. to install, maintain, and repair high-tech laser machinery and CNC systems. You’ll be the face of Prima Power, delivering expert service and training to our valued customers. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Perform system-level troubleshooting and on-site repairs  

Dismantle and rebuild machines mechanically and electrically  

Set up high-power Ytterbium Fiber Lasers and verify beam alignment  

Perform software updates on HMI, PLC, and CNC systems  

Interpret schematics and block diagrams for diagnostics 

Monitor and optimize laser system performance  

Train customers on equipment use and maintenance  

Document service issues and resolutions in detail  

 

What You Bring 

Associate degree in Lasers, Electronics, Robotics, or Manufacturing (required); Bachelor’s in Engineering or Science (preferred) 

Minimum 3 years of experience with CNC-controlled manufacturing equipment (laser experience preferred) 

Proficiency in electrical measurement tools (e.g., voltmeter, oscilloscope) 

Strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems 

Ability to read schematics and diagnose software issues 

Familiarity with Windows-based systems and Microsoft Office 

Experience with AC/DC circuits, servo controls, sensors, and PLCs 

Strong troubleshooting and mechanical repair skills 

High-level understanding of safety protocols related to electrical and laser systems 

 

Additional Requirements 

Valid driver’s license and REAL ID (required by May 2025) 

Willingness to travel 100% of the time 

Strong communication skills for customer interaction and training 

Ability to interpret technical documents and solve practical problems
