Job Description & Requirements

The Forklift Operator is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment. This role involves performing various warehouse functions, including shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment, while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Utilize RF equipment to accurately process inbound (receiving), outbound (shipping), and internal orders.
  • Ensure accuracy in item quantity and processing of all transactions.
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory accuracy through Quality Assurance inspections.
  • Provide backup support for other departments as needed with appropriate cross-training.
  • Perform stock consolidation to optimize inventory performance and maximize warehouse space.
  • Maintain company 5S standards in assigned work areas.
  • Meet and maintain productivity and quality standards as defined by the department manager.
  • Inspect and perform QA on outbound freight to ensure correct items, quantities, and that no damaged cartons are shipped without manager approval.
  • Palletize and load shipments to prevent damage during transit.
  • Load products onto LTL, TL trailers, and vans.
  • Inspect inbound freight for quantity and damage, completing appropriate documentation, including carriers' Bill of Lading (BOL) as per department’s Standard Work Instruction.
  • Adhere to all department Standard Work Instructions.
  • Complete daily forklift inspection checklists, ensuring material handling equipment is operational and report needed repairs to management.
  • Perform C-TPAT compliance inspections and documentation for all inbound and outbound international shipments.
  • Maintain operational and warehouse security per C-TPAT policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Assist team leads with onboarding new employees.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of three years of warehouse experience, with at least one year of stand-up (Reach, Dock Stocker) forklift experience.
  • Previous forklift certification (Reach, Dock Stocker, Sit-down Forklift).
  • Experience using RF scanners.

Required Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills.
  • High attention to detail to prevent injury and property damage.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Work Environment

  • Warehouse environment with adequate lighting, ventilation, and normal temperature/noise levels.
  • Physical effort required, including walking, standing, bending, and lifting materials up to 100 lbs.
