Job Description & Requirements

Forklift Operator

Position Profile Responsible for the efficient and safe operation of powered and non-powered material handling equipment. This role encompasses a full range of warehouse duties including shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with all company safety policies and procedures

Use RF equipment to accurately process inbound (receiving), outbound (shipping), and internal orders

Ensure accuracy in item and quantity on all processed transactions

Perform cycle counts and support inventory accuracy through Quality Assurance inspections

Provide cross-functional backup support across departments as needed

Consolidate stock to maximize space and improve inventory performance

Uphold 5S standards within assigned work areas

Meet productivity and quality benchmarks as defined by department leadership

Inspect and validate all outbound freight for accuracy and damage prior to shipment

Palletize and secure shipments to prevent transit damage

Load products onto LTL, TL trailers, and delivery vans

Inspect inbound freight for damage and quantity discrepancies, documenting per standard procedures

Adhere to all relevant Standard Work Instructions (SWIs)

Complete daily forklift inspection checklists and report needed repairs

Perform and document C-TPAT compliance inspections for international shipments

Support warehouse security protocols in alignment with C-TPAT policies

Assist with onboarding and training of new team members

Perform additional duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Valid certification for Reach, Dock Stocker, or Sit-down forklift

Proficient in RF scanner usage

Strong math, reading comprehension, and clear handwriting skills

Minimum of 3 years warehouse experience, including at least 1 year with stand-up forklift equipment

Physical capacity to walk, stand, bend, and lift items (up to 100 lbs.) throughout shifts

Capable of managing multiple tasks in a dynamic warehouse setting

 

Working Conditions

Typical warehouse environment with controlled lighting, ventilation, and moderate noise levels

Physical demands include walking, standing, lifting up to 100 lbs., and moving wheeled loads up to 700 lbs.
