Forklift Operator – Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-driven Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. This role is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of powered and non-powered material handling equipment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in various warehouse functions, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, adhering to all company safety protocols.

Operate RF scanners to process inbound, outbound, and internal inventory transactions with accuracy and timeliness.

Verify all items and quantities during processing to ensure correct order fulfillment and inventory accuracy.

Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with quality assurance inspections as needed.

Cross-train and provide backup support across multiple departments.

Perform stock consolidation to enhance space efficiency and production flow.

Consistently uphold 5S organizational standards in all assigned areas.

Meet and maintain productivity and quality standards as defined by management.

Inspect and ensure outbound freight is free of damage and accurately matches documentation.

Properly palletize and secure shipments to prevent damage during transit.

Load and unload LTL, TL trailers, and delivery vans in a safe and effective manner.

Conduct thorough inspections of incoming shipments for discrepancies or damage; complete BOLs per company standards.

Follow and maintain proficiency in all Standard Work Instructions (SWIs).

Complete daily forklift inspections and promptly report any issues.

Perform C-TPAT inspections and maintain warehouse security protocols for all international shipments.

Support onboarding of new employees by assisting with training and mentoring.

Execute additional tasks as assigned by leadership.

 

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Valid forklift certification for stand-up (Reach, Dock stocker) or sit-down forklifts.

At least 3 years of warehouse experience, including 1 year operating a stand-up forklift.

Proficiency with RF scanners.

Strong math skills, reading comprehension, and legible handwriting.

Physically capable of lifting up to 100 lbs and performing tasks involving walking, standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
