Job Description & Requirements

Vestas is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician II for our Merricourt, ND location. The position offers a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000, which includes a $2,500 bonus for joining the team, and an additional $2,500 if you have Basic Safety Training, Basic Technical Training, and Advanced Rescue Training Global Wind Organization (GWO) certifications. Relocation assistance may also be available. This role involves performing maintenance and installation work on wind turbines under minimal supervision.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and/or installation work on assigned wind turbines with minimal supervision.
  • Follow defined schedules and procedures, including safety protocols and verbal/written instructions.
  • Mentor entry-level technicians, providing guidance on tasks and procedures.
  • Work in a variety of conditions, including heights of 250+ feet and small spaces, while handling tools, equipment, and parts.
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain a high standard of safety and quality.
  • Contribute recommendations for improving safety and work quality.

Required Experience:

  • At least 1 year of wind experience, OR 6 months of wind experience combined with a certificate of completion from a Wind Technician program, OR 2 years of experience in electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, composite skills, or heavy machinery.

Required Education:

  • Wind Technician program certification or related field is preferred.

Work Environment:

  • The role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Physical demands include climbing, carrying tools, and working in confined spaces or at heights of up to 250+ feet.
