Job Description & Requirements

Vestas is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician II in Crowell, TX, offering a $2,500 sign-on bonus. This role requires you to bring your electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical expertise to the team, ensuring safety while performing maintenance or installation work on wind turbines. You will be working with minimal supervision and may mentor entry-level technicians. At Vestas, we value teamwork, safety, and a commitment to renewable energy.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and/or installation work on wind turbines with minimal supervision.
  • Follow defined schedules and procedures, including safety protocols and verbal/written instructions.
  • Provide mentorship to entry-level technicians.
  • Work at heights of up to 250 feet, in small spaces, or outdoor environments with varying weather conditions.
  • Handle tools and equipment, and move parts to complete work tasks.
  • Recommend safety and quality improvements in work processes.

Required Experience:

  • At least 1 year of technical wind industry experience, OR Six (6) months of technical wind industry experience and a certificate of completion from a wind technician program, OR a minimum of three (3) years of experience in electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, composite skills, or heavy machinery.
  • Experience with intermediate-level power tools such as hydraulic, power torque, and diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders while carrying up to 50 lbs.

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work at heights of up to 250 feet above the ground.
  • Must be able to work in small spaces and challenging weather conditions.
