Job Description & Requirements

Services and repairs a variety of company products and systems at customer locations within a defined territory. The Technology Service Support Representative handles a full workload on both stand-alone and networked devices while maintaining strong customer relationships and uncovering revenue opportunities (supplies, contracts, upgrades).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Achieve productivity targets for assigned workload and experience level.

  • Manage territory, parts inventory (“car stock”), and customer accounts; follow territory back-up plans.

  • Perform diagnostics, installations, removals, retrofits, and repairs on B&W, color, and multifunction devices.

  • Complete basic network set-ups (IP addresses, driver downloads) and deliver customer training on print functions.

  • Identify and forward leads for supplies, contract sales, network support contracts, and equipment/print assessments.

  • Execute all call-handling, administrative, and territory-management procedures accurately and on time.

  • Provide technical guidance to less-experienced technicians and uphold professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Comply with all company policies and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Journeyman-level technical knowledge plus 2+ years of related electro-mechanical service experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical, electronic, and digital systems.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal-communication, and customer-service skills.

  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance for extensive daily travel.

Required Education

  • Completion of a technical school program (or equivalent training) in electronics, electro-mechanics, or a related field.

Work Environment

  • Field-based role with extensive daily automobile (or walking-territory) travel in all weather conditions.

  • Customer office settings with normal lighting/temperature and regular exposure to solvents, cleaners, minor cuts/burns, and equipment up to 400 lbs.

  • Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, kneeling, and lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs; fine-motor dexterity required for small tools/components.

  • Shift work, overtime, stand-by, and on-call assignments may occur; routine phone/wireless contact with call center, parts department, and manager.

  • Periodic stress from high service-call volume and occasional interactions with dissatisfied customers.
