Job Description & Requirements

The Delivery & Install Driver is responsible for the efficient and safe delivery, relocation, and installation of office equipment, while ensuring the professionalism and quality that directly impacts future customer decisions. This role involves basic installations and networking of devices, with the expectation that all federal DOT requirements are met. The driver will also provide basic customer training on the devices delivered. Compliance with safety standards is crucial, and overnight stays may be required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Safely deliver equipment to the correct location.
  • Maintain log books in accordance with DOT regulations (electronic or manual).
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and cleanliness.
  • Pick-up and delivery of products to minimize costs.
  • Conduct basic installations, including setting up IP addresses, downloading print drivers, and providing customer training on devices.
  • Participate in safety programs and pre-call customers when applicable.
  • Achieve productivity goals associated with assigned workload.
  • Demonstrate good technical and customer service skills.
  • Provide constructive feedback on networking and installation processes.
  • Handle and secure equipment during loading/unloading, ensuring compliance with documentation.
  • Ensure all paperwork is signed and processed.
  • Assist in training new delivery drivers on proper procedures.
  • Follow accident/incident reporting protocols.
  • Perform inventory reconciliation and report discrepancies.
  • Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklift, stair climber, pallet jack).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Safe driving record and history.
  • Minimum two years of medium-duty truck driving experience.
  • On-the-job training with field technicians.
  • Experience with basic equipment installation and networking.
  • Familiarity with using smartphones/tablets for customer transactions.
  • Valid and current medical card is required
  • Eligibility to drive a commercial vehicle according to FMCSR regulations.
  • Valid commercial driver's license (if applicable) and current medical card.
  • Be at least 20 years of age, properly licensed in his or her current state of residence.

Required Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Working Conditions

  • The work environment includes a variety of settings, such as office, warehouse, and vehicle environments with adequate lighting, ventilation, and normal temperature and noise levels.
  • Physical demands include frequent bending, squatting, and lifting of equipment weighing up to 100 pounds, and moving equipment weighing up to 1000 pounds.
  • Exposure to chemical solvents and cleaners is frequent.
  • Independent work is required, with the ability to handle at-risk behaviors and resolve issues.
