Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Fusion Field Technician. This role is eligible for bonus or incentive plans. The estimated hourly pay range for this position is $16.46 - $26.00. Actual pay may vary depending on location and candidate qualifications.

Primary Responsibilities

• Inspect work for defects, dimensions, alignment, end preparations, and seam splits in pipe
• Maintain a clean and safe machine station in accordance with Ferguson’s standards
• Report all equipment malfunctions, safety issues, and required repairs
• Accurately measure, record, and add random pipe lengths
• Follow procedures for measuring and cutting pipe with various saws
• Move loose and/or bundled pipe from various locations within the pipe yard
• Read blueprints
• Assemble pipe orders (single sticks or bundles); maintain organized work supplies
• Operate powered industrial equipment per OSHA and Ferguson safety protocols
• Perform live watermain taps
• Engage in general warehousing when not on fusion or tapping jobs
• Travel in-state and out-of-state for jobs
• Collaborate with customers and vendors
• May provide back-up driver duties and responsibilities

Required Experience

• 3+ years of mechanical machine experience
• Prior fabrication experience strongly preferred
• Experience operating McElroy equipment to fuse HDPE / Fusible PVC pipe and fittings preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
• Valid state-issued driver’s license
• Possession of or ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card

Required Education

• Accurate training in the use of machines and fusion of HDPE & FPVC will be provided

Work Environment

• Travel is required, both in-state and out-of-state

• Must reside in Sioux Falls, SD; Bismarck, ND; or Fargo, ND
