Job Description & Requirements
A Wastewater Treatment Technician treats bulk hazardous & non-hazardous waste waters in accordance with environmentally responsible and cost-effective ESOL policies, practices, and procedures. The job requires maintenance of records, accuracy, attention to detail, the ability to follow instruction, and to work independently once proper training is provided.
Primary Responsibilities

Process and treat hazardous & non-hazardous waste waters using various reagents

Attach hoses to tanker trucks

Load and unload materials from tanker trucks

Conduct tanker washouts as needed

Run filtration systems – Filter press, drum vacuum press, and various pumps

Maintain daily record keeping and logs

Track information in the WNS program

Perform general housekeeping and clean up duties as needed

Manage equipment and conduct minor pump maintenance and repairs

Perform related work and additional duties as assigned by supervisor
Required Experience
-
Relevant work experience of 2+ years working with wastewater treatment preferred

Knowledge in hazardous waste and wastewater treatment preferred

Demonstrated ability to wear PPE properly and sustain a steady work pace over an entire shift

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures

Ability to complete paperwork accurately

Solid communication and problem-solving skills
-
Self-directed with ability to work on multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines
Required Education
-
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
-
College degree in Chemistry, Environmental, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience
Work Environment
-
Must be able to work in a busy, often distracting environment, both indoors and outdoors
-
Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including heat and cold (temperatures below 32°F for over one hour)

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted regularly
-
Must be able to stand or walk for long periods

Must be able to climb ladders
