Embark on a fulfilling career at BNSF Railway, joining the Mechanical Department to maintain and repair diesel engines for optimal performance and safety. This full-time position offers a pay rate of $34.50 - $41.07 per hour, with annual pay ranging from $71,757.50 to $85,425.60 based on 3 to 5 years of seniority. The role involves a 40-hour work week and is subject to union agreement. Overtime, night shifts, weekends, and holiday work are possible.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Inspect, repair, and maintain diesel locomotive engines and mechanical components.
• Perform maintenance on running gears, brake systems, safety appliances, air compressors, fuel systems, and other components.
• Test and restore locomotive components such as couplers, draft systems, radiators, and shutters.
• Install, disassemble, repair, or replace locomotive diesel engine components.
• Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctions in diesel engines, air equipment, and trucks.
• Adhere to safety protocols, federal, state regulations, and BNSF safety policies.

Required Experience:

• Able to work in the US without company sponsorship.
• Minimum of 18 years of age by the anticipated start date.
• Ability to safely work in the conditions described.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and use hands/tools to perform tasks.
• Experience working with hand tools and climbing ladders/equipment.

Work Environment:
The job is conducted in a safety-sensitive environment with extreme weather conditions, such as hot and cold temperatures, rain, snow, and sleet. Work is performed on uneven surfaces, around loud noises, fumes, and heavy/moving machinery.
