Job Description & Requirements
Responsible for the efficient and quality pick-up, relocation, and delivery of office equipment in a safe manner. Installation and networking of gear may be necessary during overall delivery to customers. The quality and professionalism in which the driver conducts himself can directly impact future customer purchase decisions. The driver will provide basic training on the device(s) being delivered. All federal DOT requirements must be met, and all Delivery Safety Standards should be adhered to.
Primary Responsibilities
- Safely deliver equipment to the correct location.
- Maintain log books in accordance with DOT regulations (Electronic or manual).
- Conduct pre and post trip vehicle reviews, ensuring compliance with all DOT and state laws.
- Perform product pick-up during delivery to minimize costs.
- Conduct basic installations, including setting up IP addresses and providing customer training on devices.
- Participate in Safety Programs and pre-call customers when applicable.
- Achieve expected productivity levels associated with assigned workload and experience.
- Demonstrate strong technical and customer relation skills.
- Identify customer needs and refer calls appropriately.
- Provide feedback on networking and installation initiatives.
- Maintain a professional appearance in driver uniform.
- Contact Dispatch or service department if technician assistance is needed.
- Ensure equipment is configured to the Bill of Lading and securely loaded.
- Capture electronic customer signatures upon transaction completion.
- Ensure all paperwork is signed and processed as required.
- Perform loading and off-loading of trucks as needed.
- Assist in training new Delivery Drivers.
- Follow accident/incident reporting guidelines and conduct inventory reconciliation.
- Responsible for managing inventory valued up to $1,000,000.
- Overnight stays may be required.
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack) as needed.
Required Experience
- Minimum of two years of medium-duty truck driving experience.
- On-the-job training with field technicians at customer locations or Transfer Center.
- Safe driving record and history.
- Experience in technical training focused on networking and installation.
- Be at least 20 years of age, properly licensed in his or her current state of residence.
- Ability to read maps and electronic GPS
- Valid and current medical card is required
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license in accordance with company policy.
Working Conditions
- Working conditions could result in serious injuries if lifting or moving procedures and rules of the road are not followed.
- Frequent physical activities such as stooping, bending, and kneeling.
- Physical effort is required to lift equipment weighing up to 100 pounds, with moving equipment potentially weighing up to 1,000 pounds.
- Work is performed in a variety of conditions, including office, warehouse, and van/truck environments with adequate lighting and ventilation.
- Frequent exposure to chemical solvents and cleaners.
