Job Description & Requirements

The Delivery & Install Driver is responsible for the efficient and quality pick-up, relocation, and delivery of office equipment in a safe manner. This position may also require the installation and networking of equipment during delivery to the customer. The quality and professionalism of the driver directly impact future customer purchase decisions. The driver is also expected to provide basic training on delivered devices and ensure compliance with federal DOT requirements. The role requires meeting all Delivery Safety Standards and achieving expected productivity levels.
Salary Range: $27.00 - $28.00 per hour.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure equipment is safely delivered to the correct location.
  • Maintain log books in accordance with DOT regulations (electronic or manual).
  • Perform pre and post-trip vehicle reviews to ensure the van/truck is safe and compliant with DOT and state laws.
  • Perform product pick-up to minimize costs.
  • Conduct basic installations, such as setting up IP addresses, downloading print drivers, removing hard drives when required, backing up and uploading customers' existing address books, and providing basic customer training on standalone and network devices.
  • Participate in Safety Programs.
  • Pre-call customers when applicable.
  • Achieve productivity levels according to assigned workload and experience.
  • Demonstrate good technical and customer service skills.
  • Provide constructive feedback to service and process teams.
  • Ensure equipment is configured according to provided documentation.
  • Load and secure equipment in the vehicle.
  • Use a phone to capture customer signatures upon completion of deliveries.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and process it correctly.
  • Help train new Delivery Drivers.
  • Follow accident/incident reporting guidelines.
  • Perform inventory reconciliation and cycle counts as needed.
  • Meet quality standards relative to job responsibility.
  • Responsible for an inventory value of up to $1,000,000.
  • Overnight stays may be required.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, stair climbers, and pallet jacks, as needed.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of two years of medium-duty truck driving experience.
  • Safe driving record and history.
  • Eligibility to drive a commercial vehicle according to FMCSR regulations.
  • On-the-job training with field technicians at customer locations or Transfer Center.
  • Ability to read maps and use electronic GPS systems.
  • Experience in handling oversized and overweight equipment.
  • Must pass a road test.
  •  Must maintain valid driver's license in accordance with company policy.

Required Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Valid and current medical card required.
  • Online technical training in networking and installation.

Working Conditions

  • The job involves frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling to service equipment at floor level.
  • Physical effort is required, including the lifting of equipment weighing up to 100 pounds and moving equipment up to 1,000 pounds.
  • Frequent exposure to chemical solvents and cleaners.
  • Work may occur in diverse conditions, including office, warehouse, and van/truck environments, with adequate lighting, ventilation, and normal temperature/noise levels.
  • Ability to work independently.
