Job Description & Requirements

The Residential Install Technician is an entry-level, trainee position responsible for broadband installation and troubleshooting tasks. This role includes paid training, quarterly bonuses, and a starting pay of $18.20/hour. A comprehensive benefits package is effective on Day 1 and includes discounted cable services, health coverage, and 29 paid days off annually (21 PTO + 8 holidays).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform installations and service changes while adhering to safety regulations, codes, and company policies.

  • Accurately update customer accounts and service documentation.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer service issues using sound judgment.

  • Educate customers on Comcast products and services to enhance their experience.

  • Operate tools and equipment, including climbing poles, ladders, and working at heights using bucket trucks.

  • Use hand tools to manipulate wiring, connectors, and fasteners.

  • Lift and carry loads of 70+ lbs., work in crawlspaces or attics, and stand for extended periods.

  • Operate a company vehicle safely and maintain necessary equipment.

  • Work flexible hours including 10-hour shifts, weekends, evenings, and holidays.

  • Complete required training, certifications, and adhere to safety protocols.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • 0–2 years of relevant experience.

Required Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to moderate noise, pets, construction zones, and outdoor weather conditions.

  • Requires physical effort including climbing, lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.

  • Vision requirements include close and peripheral focus for tool usage and installations.

  • Schedule includes nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Pay

  • Base Pay: $18.20/hour

  • Eligible for quarterly bonuses and comprehensive benefits starting Day 1.
