Job Description & Requirements

Be a problem solver, trusted advisor, and partner to the people and businesses in KeyBank communities. The Financial Wellness Consultant (FWC) is a Banker who also conducts Teller transactions to build relationships, uncover opportunities, and provide guidance and solutions to assist clients in their financial wellness—both in person and through proactive outreach. FWCs are responsible for attracting new clients and expanding relationships with existing ones by aligning solutions to individual financial goals. Effective teamwork, communication, and confidence are essential in this role. Primary Responsibilities

  • Create a strong client experience by being present and impactful with every interaction.

  • Identify financial wellness opportunities and provide tailored recommendations.

  • Achieve activity, behavior, and outcome expectations consistently.

  • Process financial transactions accurately while identifying relationship growth opportunities.

  • Open various personal and business accounts including checking, savings, and loan products.

  • Partner with teammates and business lines to deepen client relationships and drive acquisition.

  • Ensure compliance with operational, security, and audit policies and procedures.

  • Participate in and occasionally lead daily team huddles and debrief sessions.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Uphold all KeyBank policies and conduct business ethically and in the clients’ best interests.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in customer relationship development, sales goals achievement, and building referral networks through outreach and prospecting.

  • Experience in cash handling.

  • General understanding of PC applications (Windows) and calculator usage.

  • Proficiency with digital tools (apps, mobile, online platforms) and the ability to educate clients on digital capabilities.

  • Foundational knowledge of sales and service techniques including tele-consulting and networking.

  • Understanding of consumer credit concepts (preferred).

Required Education

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience (required)

Work Environment

  • Prolonged standing (5–8 hours/day)

  • Frequent use of hands for manipulation and grasping

  • Face-to-face and phone communication

  • Occasional bending and lifting from floor height

  • Frequent lifting (1–10 lbs.), occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs.)

  • Occasional driving required with a valid driver's license
