Job Description & Requirements
Be a problem solver, trusted advisor, and partner to the people and businesses in our Key Bank communities. Personal Bankers engage clients in deeper conversations to uncover needs and provide guidance and solutions to assist in clients' financial wellness both in person and through proactive calling efforts. As part of the branch team, the Personal Banker will work toward attracting new clients to Key and developing existing client relationships based on their unique financial goals. This role requires a client-first, sales-driven, self-motivated, and competitive individual. Strong teamwork and effective communication are critical.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Embody a strong client experience culture, being present with every client and teammate.
- Listen for financial wellness opportunities during client conversations and provide customized recommendations.
- Consistently meet individual activity, behavior, and outcome expectations.
- Open personal and business accounts (e.g., consumer checking, small business, home equity).
- Develop partnerships with branch teammates and line of business partners to enhance client relationships.
- Ensure compliance with operational, risk, security, and audit procedures.
- Support branch operations, including assisting with client transactions on the Teller line as needed.
- Participate in morning huddles and end-of-day debriefs.
- Perform other duties as assigned, which may change over time.
- Comply with all KeyBank policies and procedures, acting ethically and in the best interests of clients.
Required Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in developing customer relationships and achieving sales goals; sales experience is prioritized over financial services experience.
- Understanding of consumer credit, including loan-to-value, debt-to-income, and credit reports.
- Foundational knowledge of sales and service techniques, including tele-consulting and networking.
- Comfortable interacting with small business clients and overcoming objections.
- Experience influencing business partners and leveraging centers of influence.
- Proficient in using PCs (MS Windows and Office Products) and digital technology.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent business experience (required)
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
- Notary License (preferred)
Working Conditions:
- Physical Demands: Prolonged standing (5-8 hours per day), frequent use of hands, ability to communicate face-to-face and on the phone, occasional bending and lifting (up to 30 lbs.).
- Driving Requirements: Ability to operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license.
