Job Description & Requirements

Vestas is offering a $2,500 USD / $3,300 CAD sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. If you hold certifications such as Basic Safety Training (BST), Basic Technical Training (BTT), and Advanced Rescue Training (ART) from the Global Wind Organization (GWO), you’re already one step ahead. Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and/or installation work on assigned wind turbines under minimal supervision.
  • Follow defined schedules and procedures, including safety protocols and written/verbal instructions.
  • Mentor entry-level technicians as needed.
  • Work in challenging conditions such as heights up to 250 feet, confined spaces, and varying weather.
  • Use and understand intermediate-level power tools (e.g., Flukemeter, hydraulic pressure gauges).
  • Climb, carry tools and equipment, and move parts to perform maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure professionalism, safety, and quality in all work and interactions with customers and team members.
  • Recommend improvements for safety and quality.

Required Experience

  • At least 1 year of technical wind industry experience, OR
  • Six (6) months of technical wind industry experience and a certificate from a wind technician program, OR
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, composite skills, or heavy machinery.

Required Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment

  • Frequently working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Working at heights (up to 250 feet) and in confined spaces.
  • Physically demanding tasks including climbing and lifting up to 50 lbs.
