Job Description & Requirements

The Field Support Technician is responsible for the daily service, support, and repair of Ricoh-managed devices within a defined geographic area. This includes customer support, equipment setup and installation, preventative maintenance, and service of printers, multi-functional devices, and other equipment under Ricoh’s Service Advantage program. The role may also involve managing on-site parts and consumables inventory and requires travel within the metro area using a personal vehicle.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site support for printers, copiers, and other supported devices.

  • Respond to customer support requests and resolve issues professionally and efficiently.

  • Escalate unresolved problems as needed and keep customers informed on progress.

  • Conduct printer needs assessments, installations, moves, and disposals.

  • Maintain printer fleet tools and databases.

  • Manage on-site inventory of hardware, parts, and supplies.

  • Use personal vehicle for travel within the metro area.

  • Lift and transport equipment up to 50 lbs. and perform extensive walking.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • IT Help Desk Support experience (applications and hardware) preferred.

Required Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Additional technical training or certifications (e.g., HP Certifications) preferred.

  • Completion of Ricoh Learning Institute courseware within designated timeframe.

Work Environment

  • Office environment with standard lighting, ventilation, and noise levels.

  • Physical activity includes walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • High dexterity required for using various hand tools and working with small components.

  • Requires interaction with internal departments, customers, vendors, and external agencies.

  • Assignments involve troubleshooting, routine servicing, and following technical manuals.
