Job Description & Requirements
The Broadband Installation Technician is responsible for acquiring the necessary skills and knowledge to perform broadband installation and troubleshooting activities. This is an entry-level trainee role with increasing proficiency and decreasing supervision over time. The role includes hands-on training, field assessments, and safety certification requirements. Pay Rate: $18.20 per hour + quarterly bonuses, paid training, and comprehensive benefits effective Day 1.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform installations and service changes while following company procedures, safety guidelines, and applicable codes.
- Update customer accounts to ensure accurate service records.
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues to ensure proper service functionality.
- Educate customers on products, services, and account management.
- Persist in completing projects despite challenges, with minimal supervision.
- Use active listening skills and empathy to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Operate tools, including hand tools and installation equipment, while working at heights (poles, roofs) using ladders, bucket trucks, and safety gear.
- Lift and carry loads of 70 lbs. or more, work in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces, and perform tasks near power lines.
- Work within manufacturer-rated weight capacities for all equipment, including ladders and aerial lifts.
- Drive a company vehicle safely while maintaining compliance with licensing requirements.
- Work in various weather conditions, construction areas, and public spaces.
- Maintain flexibility to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime when necessary.
- Complete required training and obtain necessary safety certifications.
- Maintain punctuality and reliability in attendance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Experience
- 0-2 years of relevant experience (training will be provided).
Required Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
Work Environment
- Exposure to moderate noise levels, animals, and construction areas.
- Frequent climbing, lifting, and physical exertion.
- Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Requires vision capability, including close and peripheral vision.
- Travel between work locations may be required.
