Job Description & Requirements

Acuity Inc. is seeking a Certified Machinist with the ability to operate various machining equipment and apply advanced shop math and engineering principles. This role is critical to ensuring precision, quality, and efficiency in part production and reverse engineering.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Use shop math, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, to determine the most economical production methods.

  • Operate hand tools, DRO lathes, DRO mills, broaching equipment, single-point threading tools, and CNC machines.

  • Apply knowledge of materials, heat treatments, and weldments.

  • Use overhead hoists and quick stacks for loading and unloading machines.

  • Reverse engineer worn or broken parts and create drawings or documentation.

  • Occasionally utilize CAM software for CNC programming.

  • Use precision measuring devices as required.

  • Complete daily reporting and production documentation.

  • Assist in resolving production difficulties to maintain smooth operations.

  • Perform other related duties as needed.

Required Experience

  • Certified Machinist

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents

  • Strong mathematical and reasoning abilities

Required Education

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
