At Vestas, we’re not just offering a job, but an opportunity to elevate your career. As a Wind Turbine Technician, you’ll apply your electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical skills to help power the world sustainably.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform intermediate-level maintenance and/or installation work on wind turbines with minimal supervision.
- Follow defined schedules, safety protocols, and instructions—both verbal and written.
- Provide mentorship to entry-level technicians when required.
- Work at heights up to 250 feet and in confined spaces to perform maintenance and repairs.
- Carry tools and equipment while climbing or navigating tight spaces.
- Uphold professionalism, safety, and attention to detail in all tasks.
- Proactively suggest improvements to enhance safety and quality.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of technical wind industry experience,
OR 6 months of wind industry experience plus a certificate from a wind technician program,
OR 3 years of experience in electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, composite, or heavy machinery work. - Proficient with intermediate-level power tools such as hydraulic and torque tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Experience reading and interpreting drawings and schematics.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with coworkers and customers.
Required Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Environment
- Outdoor work including exposure to harsh weather conditions.
- Climbing stairs and ladders with equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Working at significant heights and in confined spaces.
