Job Description & Requirements

The Onsite Licensed Sales Counselor at KB Home is responsible for meeting with prospective buyers to communicate, persuade, and conduct final sales for newly constructed residential homes. This role seeks new leads by continually contacting prospective buyers, referrals, brokers, and other prospects. The Sales Counselor will use competitive market analysis (CMA) and other data-driven tools to sell homes, as well as hosting grand openings and community events. The position involves direct interaction with customers and requires a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and achieving sales goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors and provide literature, point-of-sale information, and handouts to prospective homebuyers.
  • Respond to customer requests for further assistance or information and demonstrate models/homes/home sites.
  • Discuss floor plans, general construction, and available options with prospective buyers.
  • Overcome sales objections and close sales with the goal of creating satisfied customers.
  • Receive offers and applications, and assist with financing questions for prospective buyers.
  • Document sales transactions, follow up on loan applications, monitor sales and cancellations, and maintain sales files.
  • Conduct weekly follow-up calls with buyers until home closing.
  • Ensure sales models and the community are properly maintained and clean.
  • Keep marketing materials updated and ready for distribution to potential buyers.
  • Continually seek new prospects/customers through networking, referrals, and effective follow-up.
  • Work with real estate brokers and conduct presentations to attract brokers to KB Home communities.
  • Host grand openings and community events to engage potential buyers.

Required Experience

  • Previous sales experience is required; homebuilding sales experience is preferred.
  • Proven ability to connect with people, build and maintain professional relationships, and push sales to successful closure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate persuasively and accurately.
  • Experience with competitive market analysis (CMA) and data-driven sales techniques is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. C3 or JD Edwards database experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Required Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Current local real estate license required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
