Job Description & Requirements
Vestas is offering a $2,500 USD / $3,300 CAD sign-on bonus for qualified Wind Turbine Technician II candidates. If you hold Basic Safety Training (BST), Basic Technical Training (BTT), and Advanced Rescue Training (ART) certifications from the Global Wind Organization (GWO), you are already one step ahead. Primary Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and/or installation work on assigned wind turbines with minimal supervision.
- Follow defined schedules and procedures including safety protocols and verbal/written instructions.
- Mentor entry-level technicians when needed.
- Work at heights of up to 250 feet and in confined spaces.
- Carry tools, equipment, and parts to perform maintenance and repairs.
- Collaborate in a team environment to maintain professionalism, safety, and work quality.
- Provide suggestions for process improvement in safety and quality.
Required Experience
- At least 1 year of technical wind industry experience, OR
- Six (6) months of wind industry experience plus certificate from a wind technician program, OR
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, composite skills, or heavy machinery.
- Experience using intermediate level power tools, including hydraulic, power torque, and diagnostic tools (e.g., Flukemeter, hydraulic pressure gauge).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Basic computer skills and ability to interpret computer data.
- Effective communication skills with customers and coworkers.
Required Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Work Environment
- Regularly work at heights up to 250 feet.
- Work in outdoor environments and variable weather conditions.
- Work in confined spaces and perform physically demanding tasks including carrying up to 50 lbs.
