Job Description & Requirements

Immediate opportunities are available for talented Factory Specialists who want to become part of the Johnson Controls team. Our Factory Specialists read and comprehend electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints and schematics and perform troubleshooting and repairs of these systems. They work closely with Engineering to help implement new procedures and processes.

Pay: $28.73/h - $39.48/h (Based on experience)
Schedule: 2:30 PM – 11 PM

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support Lean, Six Sigma, and Best Business Practices projects, including investigation, buy-in, and rollout of completed projects across the division.
  • Collaborate with Quality Control and manufacturing personnel to ensure that processes and equipment produce a product that meets or exceeds Quality Control and Engineering standards.
  • Leverage Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies to ensure performance specifications are met before releasing new processes to production.
  • Use analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes, implement solutions, and monitor new processes (including new equipment and tools).
  • Utilize effective time management to implement improvement projects on time.
  • Ensure work is performed in adherence to good housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Communicate effectively with management and stakeholders through written documentation, reports, and verbal updates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Minimum two years of experience working with manufacturing processes, equipment, and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Minimum two years of experience in PLC automation/programming or equivalent education from an accredited trade school in lieu of experience.
  • Proficiency in reading and comprehending electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints and schematics for troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interactions with team members, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to convert metric system measurements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification.
  • Understanding of AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.

Work Environment

  • Ability to lift and move heavy steel materials (up to 100 lbs or more).
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, crawl, work at heights and in tight spaces, and function in a fast-paced environment for extended periods (8+ hours).
  • Capability to work in various industrial conditions (e.g., noise, heat, etc.).
