Job Description & Requirements

Immediate opportunities are available for talented Run Testers to join the Johnson Controls team. We are hiring multiple Run Testers at our Wichita, KS manufacturing facility for 2nd shift. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Check refrigeration units under actual operation against performance requirements.
  • Read and understand Operational Method Sheets (OMS) job instructions.
  • Set refrigeration units for operation and operate units until stabilized. Troubleshoot when problems arise.
  • Set up testing equipment as necessary and perform a variety of checks, including compressor performance, high and low-pressure cutouts, dry bulb temperatures, and static pressures.
  • Check and test component parts and subassemblies per OMS specifications using hand tools and computer systems.
  • Make required reports and tags, such as rejection tags and check-off lists, determine causes for and report abnormal quality conditions.

Required Experience:

  • 3-6 months of inspecting production or machine operator experience minimum.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Vision corrected to 20/20.

Work Environment:

  • The employee will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, extreme heat, and outdoor weather conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • Employees must follow safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy steel materials (up to 50 lbs or more).
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods (8+ hours).
  • Capability to work in various industrial conditions (e.g., noise, heat, etc.).
