Job Description & Requirements

Ferguson is seeking a Counter Sales Representative to provide excellent customer service and sales support at the counter. This role offers a starting pay rate of $23 per hour (and may be higher based on experience), bonus potential, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and more. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Advise customers on the best products to fit their needs.
  • Process orders through the order management system.
  • Operate cash registers and follow established cash handling procedures.
  • Prepare and stage orders for customer pick-up.
  • Maintain store appearance and merchandising standards.
  • Restock merchandise in designated areas.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper use of PPE such as a safety harness (maximum weight capacity 400 lbs).

Required Experience

  • 2–5 years of customer service experience preferred.
  • Prior sales experience preferred.
  • Experience with heavy lifting required.
  • Basic product knowledge preferred.
  • General computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to lift, load, and deliver merchandise.
  • General math skills for cash accounting.
  • Strong decision-making and communication skills.
  • Pre-employment drug and background screening required.

Required Education

  • No specific degree required; ability and willingness to learn is essential.

Work Environment / Working Conditions

  • Must maintain a safe working environment and comply with all safety protocols.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including a safety harness, is required.
