Job Description & Requirements
Be a problem solver, trusted advisor, and partner to the people and businesses in our Key Bank communities. As a Lead Teller, you serve as a resource in identifying and resolving client servicing issues, act as the primary troubleshooter for complex problems and client service needs, and enhance client relationships by providing distinctive quality service. Lead Tellers help coach and guide Tellers to enhance the client experience and ensure operational effectiveness.
This position is eligible to earn a base hourly rate in the range of $18.75 to $24.52 per hour, depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes short-term incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
Primary Responsibilities

Embody a strong client experience culture and remain present and engaged with each client interaction.

Ensure accurate performance of teller functions while coaching other tellers.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex client servicing issues.

Identify client financial needs and transition to a Banker for deeper financial wellness discussions.

Assist clients in achieving financial goals through wellness tools.

Participate in daily team huddles and debriefs.

Follow compliance, audit, and security procedures; maintain cash drawer balance.

Manage daily teller line operations, including scheduling, coaching, and adherence to branch standards.

Stay informed on product guides, fees, and policies.

Support Branch Manager in training and onboarding new Tellers.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Comply with KeyBank’s professional, ethical, and client-focused standards.
Required Experience
-
Minimum 3 years of superior client relationship skills
-
Minimum 3 years of cash handling experience

Working knowledge of PC and Windows applications, and calculator

Demonstrated leadership, motivation, and teamwork ability

Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Required Education
-
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent business experience (required)
Working Conditions
-
Prolonged standing (5–8 hours/day)

Frequent use of hands to manipulate/grasp objects
-
Frequent communication in-person and via phone
-
Occasional bending, lifting (1–10 lbs. frequently; up to 30 lbs. occasionally)

Occasional operation of a motor vehicle with valid driver’s license
